Beef Stir Fry
So the other night I decided to make myself some stir fry. I know, I know. It's nothing new and why is he posting this? Well, this time I changed it up a little bit.
Ingredients:
1 lb Stir Fry Beef
1 can Cut Baby Corn
1 can Bean Sprouts
1 cup Frozen Peas
1 cup Frozen Cut Green Beans
Sesame Seeds
Spicy Brown Mustard
Sesame Seed Oil
Sweet & Sour Sauce
Stir Fry Sauce
Teriyaki Sauce
Garlic Salt
Vegetable Oil
Alright, first step of course is to assemble your ingredients.
Now I chose to cut up the stir fry meat first. You don't have to do this but you would be left with huge strips of meat instead of size appropriate pieces. Cutting them smaller solves that issue.
Using a wok, pour in a spoonful of Vegetable Oil and turn the heat to MEDIUM. Add in your cut up Stir Fry Beef. Add in a few dashes of Sesame Seed Oil.
Add in some Lime Juice, Spicy Brown Mustard, Sesame Seeds, Teriyaki Sauce, and Garlic Salt. I used a good squirt of the Lime Juice bottle. Maybe a spoonful of Spicy Brown Mustard. A dusting of Garlic Salt. Go crazy with the Teriyaki Sauce, because why not!?
Once the meat is done cooking, which should be right when it turns that grayish brown color of being cooked. Strain the meat out of the wok and place in a bowl to the side. I put mine in the microwave to retain heat better.
In your wok you still have the liquid mixture. Add in your Frozen Peas and Frozen Cut Green Beans.
Some more Spicy Brown Mustard? I think so.
Add in a good sized amount of Sweet & Sour Sauce. About the same amount of Stir Fry Sauce.
Now mix it around. Get your can of Cut Baby Corns and Bean Sprouts. Open them up and drain them of all liquid. I chose to put the Baby Corns in first, then the Bean Sprouts.
Mix them around and let them cook for awhile. You can check when they are done by tasting a piece of the Baby Corns. Once those are done, everything else should be too.
Now that it's done, you get the Stir Fry Beef out and throw that back in the wok.
Mix.
Now give it a minute or two of cooking. Turn off heat and serve. Enjoy.

Sweet! Brussels Sprouts that is!
Today I threw together an impromptu snack of awesome for my girlfriend. I know she enjoys brussels sprouts and thought that I should cook the ones I had in the fridge.
Ingredients:
Brussels Sprouts
Sake
Brandy
Teriyaki Sauce
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder
Italian Herb Mix
Butter
I began this recipe by rinsing off my Brussels Sprouts and then slicing them in half lengthwise. I put all of these into a mixing bowl I had on hand.
I then put a saucepan on the stovetop and turned the heat to medium. At this point I put in about a 1/3 of a stick of Butter. After it melts about 1/2 way or so, pour in about 1/4 cup of Sake. Just enough to cover the bottom of the pan. I put in about 1/4 of a cup worth of Brandy, just enough to make it's presence known. I swirled this all together and then tossed in the Brussels Sprouts. On top of this I added in a healthy dose of Onion Powder and then the same with Garlic Powder. Maybe a little more Garlic Powder? A healthy pinch of Italian Herb Mix went next. I then mixed all of this together and let cook for about 1 minute. Then I added in a healthy dose of Teriyaki Sauce; this is where the sweetness really shines through. The Brandy will make it quite sweet, but the Teriyaki Sauce throws it over the top and that is what we want here.
You'll know they are done when the white inside portions of the Brussels Sprouts are turned that brownish hue of the Teriyaki Sauce. Or just taste test, that always works as well. Enjoy.

Brussels Sprouts
Brussels Sprouts are not my favorite food in the world, however I don't always cook for JUST me. I cooked these up today as a treat for my girlfriend and possibly some lucky people at work tomorrow! There aren't too many photo's for this one since I was almost halfway done cooking them when I remembered to reach for the camera, sorry everybody!
Ingredients:
Brussels Sprouts
3/4 cup Olive Oil
Ground Black Pepper
Italian Herbs
Garlic Salt
I began by cutting the Brussels Sprouts in half, top to bottom. I put all these into a mixing bowl and turned my attention to the stovetop.
I began with putting a large saucepan on the stovetop and turning the heat to medium. I then poured in about 3/4 cup of Olive Oil, possibly an entire cup's worth.
Once the Olive Oil is heated, pour in your Brussels Sprouts. Stir them around to get them properly coated by the Olive Oil. Then season them with your Ground Black Pepper, Italian Herbs, and Garlic Salt. I did not give an exact amount due to the fact that I know everyone has their own taste preferences. It will be hard to mess this up since only 3 spices really, so you can just add more here and there to get it to be perfect.
Every once in awhile stir them and by once in awhile, I mean do it regularly. You do not want them to sear themselves to the bottom of your pan. Let them cook for about 8 to 10 minutes, stirring regularly.
Now the fun part, taste test them! You should have enough in there to steal one or three out to taste. If they taste done, then take them off. If not, well just cook them a little longer! Then, enjoy!
